An Update
Working on a lot of briefs at the moment. Currently in the "Working In A Project Team" class. 3D work has begun for the Editing brief, and I need to do one more sketch. Plenty of time left to type up report for Creative Industries class. Drawing classes are going well. Animation For The Audio-Visual Industries class is slow-moving. Have an idea for my title sequence, however.

Development Log
The following is the development log I've been keeping since the start of the Graded Unit:
Week one: Ahead of schedule - produced action plan, gathered lots of research images and compiled moodboards, plus work has been started on the development stage already. I drew some sketches demonstrating how my research information might be applied to a concept.
Week two: Produced several sketches, lots of design work, thought about basic and innovative design solutions, produced concepts. Missed mentoring session, but was told it was actually the second week of planning, and so I'm lucky I guess.
Week three: Started digital work, used scaling, extruding, UV Texturing, produced still renders to show development, produced comparison shots of Max/Maya, favouring Max.
Week four: Animated and rendered final scene using keyframing. Decided to amend my design slightly within the last couple of days, and so ended up reanimating and rerendering everything to create my second - and this time truly final - animation.

Graded Unit: Development Week One
Mentoring session tomorrow - going to be showing sheets of A4/A3 design sketches as well as Max/Maya tests and still renders. I also have a sheet explaining why Concept One was chosen, relating to set design requirements. Hope it's enough! Should be ready to present my final animation the following week, which I'm rendering out in parts that will be edited together. So far, the first part (of 7) is done, with the second ready and waiting to be rendered.

Graded Unit: Mentoring Session One
I just had my first mentoring session, and I think it went very well. The only criticisms raised were ones regarding the unadaptable nature of the time schedule, but even so, that was only said to cost me a mark or so. The action plan seemed to impress, as did my level of research, and the fact that I'm ahead of schedule and have already begun producing development material was also in my favour. A point was raised about the designs being a solution to a problem, so perhaps I need to make the problem clearer. Other than that, all was good. Let's hope the rest of the sessions go this way.

Graded Unit - Week Two
I'm putting in a lot of work for this graded unit. I'm quite dedicated to it, in fact.
So far, I've followed my action plan word-for-word, without fail, and I'm even beginning to surpass it. At the present stage, I have three moodboards, printed off and annotated, as well as six A4 sketches which explore a range of different ideas. Tomorrow marks the beginning of my A3 sketches - as dictated by my action plan - and hopefully I'll get a lot done! :)

Latest Progress Update
As far as Maya goes, everything is done and I've been passed. Ironically, I passed today's assessment yesterday and - hopefully - I'll be passing yesterday's assessment today! I re-animated and re-rendered my Max scene in order to achieve more realistic movement on the box prop, and it should be enough change to pass the brief. I've spent this morning re-doing the facial animation tutorial (and still having a few problems with it); I've compiled a moodboard showing a change in facial positions, and that should also be in my favour.
I'm shattered.
